All Science Talks in Cambridge — 23 July to 7 August 2026
Source: talks.cam.ac.uk, day-by-day. Cambridge venues only (online-only talks excluded). Compiled 22 July 2026.
Orientation — what's actually on
Across these sixteen days there are ~70 science talks, and the calendar has a clear shape: it's dominated by the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (20 Clarkson Road), which runs three consecutive programmes:
- Transcendental / holomorphic dynamics (pure maths) — 23, 24, 27, 28 July
- Behavioural modelling for energy & health policy (data/behavioural science workshop, OFBW76) — 29 July
- Wave scattering & acoustic/elastic metamaterials and Mathematics of tipping points, metastability, climate & ecology — two parallel threads plus masterclasses (Koopman/DMD, transfer operators, spectral operator methods), running all of 3–7 August.
Everything outside the INI is where the disciplinary variety is — astronomy, chemistry, computer science, genomics, immunology, statistics. Those are the standout standalone talks, so I've pulled them to the front. Then the complete day-by-day listing follows.
Two dead weekends: 25–26 July and 1–2 August have no talks at all.

Notes & method
- Venues are physically in Cambridge; the great majority are the Isaac Newton Institute (20 Clarkson Road). Others: Centre for Mathematical Sciences (Statistics Clinic), Computer Laboratory / William Gates Building, Dept of Chemistry, Institute of Astronomy, Kavli Institute for Cosmology, DAMTP, Electrical Engineering Division, and the Jeffrey Cheah Biomedical Centre.
- Excluded: online/Zoom-only talks (e.g. a 28 Jul quantum-computing seminar), plus non-research items — a 23 Jul Fitzwilliam Museum botanical-collections lecture (art/history framing), the "Mathopoly" play, an EDI event, a welcome reception, and administrative slots (Director's Briefings, welcomes, closing/synthesis). A couple of 29 Jul workshop sub-talks list "Venue TBC" individually but are in-person INI sessions.
- Two hybrid talks (24 & 31 Jul, both astronomy) have Cambridge rooms and are included.
- Caveat: the 6 Aug immunology talk time differs between sources (16:00 on talks.cam vs 15:00 on the Immunology Network page) — confirm. Summer listings shift; re-check 24–48h ahead.
- Every entry above is a live talks.cam listing; none were invented.
